India’s Sky Guardian ‘Sheshnaag-150’, Indigenous Loitering Munition with 1000km Range

Bengaluru-based startup New Space Research and Technologies has achieved a major breakthrough with the development of Sheshnaag-150, an advanced loitering munition drone. Designed for strategic precision, it boasts a range of over 1000 kilometers and can stay airborne for more than 5 hours to identify and destroy high-value targets.

The standout feature of Sheshnaag-150 is its ‘Swarm Intelligence’ technology, allowing multiple drones to communicate in real-time and launch coordinated attacks to overwhelm enemy air defenses. Equipped with GPS-independent navigation, it remains lethal even in electronically jammed environments. Capable of carrying 25 to 40 kg of explosives, these drones can be deployed via mobile trucks or highways, offering rapid response capabilities. Experts believe Sheshnaag-150 signifies India’s shift towards cost-effective yet high-impact ‘attritable warfare.’
