Attack on Priyanka Tibrewal! BJP Candidate Allegedly Heckled by TMC Workers in Entally

High drama unfolded in the Entally constituency as BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal alleged a violent attack by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters in the Dhapa area. The Kolkata-based lawyer, known for contesting against CM Mamata Banerjee in Bhawanipur, claimed she was physically intimidated while distributing party manifestos on Tuesday.
“TMC workers blocked our way in Tangra and Dhapa. Some were even carrying weapons. The local police remained inactive, and it was the CRPF that eventually rescued us,” Tibrewal stated. She further emphasized that free and fair elections are impossible unless central forces are given a ‘free hand’ and biased police officers are held accountable.
The political dynamics in Entally have shifted this year as TMC replaced three-time MLA Swarna Kamal Saha with his son, Sandipan Saha. As the ruling party faces criticism over ‘dynasty politics’—highlighted by candidacies like Shreyas Pande and Shirshanya Banerjee—Priyanka is banking on development issues. However, this recent clash suggests a volatile road ahead for the upcoming polls in this traditional TMC stronghold.
