Youngest Ever? Vaibhav Suryavanshi All Set to Break Tendulkar’s 36-Year-Old Record

Indian cricket is on the verge of a historic milestone as 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi is reportedly set to earn his maiden call-up for the senior national team. Sources within the BCCI suggest that the young sensation is a top contender for the upcoming India Tour of Ireland, 2026.
A senior BCCI official confirmed, “Vaibhav has caught the eyes of the selectors with his extraordinary talent. He is being considered for the Ireland series and potentially the Zimbabwe tour later this year.” The selection committee aims to groom young talents by providing them early exposure to international conditions.
Currently, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the youngest Indian male cricketer to debut, having started his journey at 16 years and 205 days against Pakistan in 1989. While Shafali Verma debuted for the women’s team at 15, Vaibhav is poised to become the youngest-ever male representative for India. If he takes the field in Ireland, it will mark the end of a nearly four-decade-old record, ushering in a new era for Indian cricket.
