In a high-voltage incident in North 24 Parganas, the vehicle of Bagdah’s BJP candidate, Soma Thakur, was struck by a speeding motorcycle on Monday. The incident occurred while the candidate was offering prayers at the Aramdanga Kali Temple. A motorcycle rammed into the rear of her stationary security vehicle with such force that the rear windshield was completely shattered.

Conspiracy vs. Coincidence: The incident took a sharp political turn as the injured biker was seen wearing a TMC-branded t-shirt. Soma Thakur alleged a pre-planned conspiracy by the TMC, stating, “This was a deliberate attack. My driver narrowly escaped, and the environment of fear is being created intentionally.” Conversely, the biker claimed to be a brick-kiln laborer from Jharkhand, dismissing the political angle as a mere accident.

The Political Backdrop: Bagdah has become a hotbed of political rivalry since former BJP winner Biswajit Das switched back to the TMC. With the Bongaon Police currently investigating the matter and the biker in custody, the incident has further intensified the electoral battle in the region.
