Bihar Political Turmoil: Nitish Kumar Quits; NDA Meeting to Decide New CM Today

A massive political shift rocked Bihar today as Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Chief Minister, bringing his 21-year tenure to a close. Before heading to the Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation to the Governor, he chaired the final cabinet meeting of his government.

The day remains charged with high-stakes political activity as the state awaits its next leader. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislative party meeting is scheduled for 3 PM, followed by a joint meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) legislators at 4 PM to elect the new Chief Minister. Sources suggest that alongside the new CM, two Deputy Chief Ministers are also likely to take the oath of office later today. All eyes are now on the NDA’s decision.
