A Tribute to the Legend! NFR Unveils State-of-the-Art ‘Zubeen Garg Railway Bihutoli’ in Maligaon

In a significant move to honor the cultural icon of Assam, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has developed a new cultural complex in Maligaon named the ‘Zubeen Garg Railway Bihutoli’. This naming reflects the deep-rooted cultural bond and admiration for the legendary artist whose music resonates in every Assamese heart.

The newly developed venue is equipped with modern facilities, including a permanent stage area, community spaces, a dining hall, and an all-weather field. The complex is all set to host the annual ‘Rongali Bihu’ celebrations from April 14 to 17, 2026, organized by the Pandu Bihu Sanmiloni.

A grand pre-Bihu inaugural ceremony was recently held at the venue, graced by Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of NFR. The event saw enthusiastic participation from railway officials, local residents, and cultural enthusiasts. Adding emotional weight to the occasion, Zubeen Garg’s sister was also present and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the railways for bestowing such an honor upon the legendary singer. This initiative underscores NFR’s commitment to celebrating regional culture and honoring eminent personalities who have made remarkable contributions to society.
