‘Keep Burnol & Boroline Ready!’ Election Commission’s Viral Jibe at TMC Sparks Controversy

Amidst the rising political mercury in Bengal, the Election Commission (EC) has delivered a stinging retort to the ruling TMC using Bollywood music and “Burnol” references. Reacting to Mamata Banerjee’s relentless attacks over the removal of names from voter lists (SIR), the South Kolkata DEO posted a clip of the iconic song “Hum Pyar Karne Wale” with a sharp caption warning anti-social elements to stay prepared for the “heat” of the polls.
The social media post explicitly warned goons and history-sheeters to keep an adequate stock of Burnol and Boroline, stating that the intensity of the EC’s crackdown would cause them to “burn from within.” While the post didn’t name any party, political observers see it as a direct jab at the TMC. Meanwhile, ensuring a free and fair poll, General Observer Tapas Roy personally visited Bhawanipore, interacting with tea-sellers and locals to check for any prevailing fear. He assured that the commission remains vigilant against booth jamming and any attempts to intimidate voters.
