Amit Shah Launches ‘Sankalp Patra’ for Bengal 2026, Calls TMC Rule a ‘Dark Night’

Setting the stage for the 2026 Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ (Manifesto) in New Town, Kolkata. Flanked by top state leaders including Suvendu Adhikari and Sukanta Majumdar, Shah launched a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee government, labeling the last 15 years as a “Kalratri” (Dark Night) for the people of Bengal. He stated that the hope for change after the Communist misrule remains unfulfilled under the TMC.

The manifesto outlines a series of high-impact promises aimed at winning over the electorate. Key highlights include free cancer screening, universal institutional delivery services, and a total crackdown on cattle smuggling. “Not a single cow will be allowed to be smuggled out of the country,” Shah asserted. On the economic front, he promised to tackle unemployment by boosting small-scale industries.

Addressing law and order, Shah announced that the BJP would release three separate ‘White Papers’ on political violence, corruption, and constitutional violations under the TMC. He assured that investigations would be conducted by retired Supreme Court judges. Furthermore, he reiterated the party’s commitment to implementing a Uniform Civil Code (One Nation, One Law) within a specific timeframe. With specialized self-defense training for women and a focus on safety, the BJP has signaled an aggressive campaign strategy for 2026.
