Crackdown on Fuel Hoarding! HPCL Suspends 27 Dealerships Amid Artificial Crisis Scare

While international oil markets show signs of relief following the US-Iran ceasefire, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has taken a tough stance against artificial shortages within India. Between April 1st and 7th, HPCL ramped up its supply chain, delivering over 2.64 lakh KL of petrol and 4.77 lakh KL of diesel using 48,099 tankers.
To curb black marketing, the corporation conducted over 4,300 inspections, leading to disciplinary actions against 74 dealers and the suspension of 27 dealerships. Joint raids with state administrations resulted in 40 FIRs and the seizure of 3,163 LPG cylinders. HPCL emphasized that 95% of gas bookings are now processed via IVRS and WhatsApp to ensure transparency. The company has reassured the public that there is no overall shortage and urged customers to avoid panic buying, promising continued vigilance against unscrupulous traders.
