Voter Roll ‘SIR’ Issue Haunts BJP! Dilip Ghosh Blames TMC-aligned Officers for Missing Names

BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh faced an embarrassing situation on Wednesday while campaigning in Kharagpur’s Rajgram area. The veteran leader was confronted by an agitated resident who questioned the deletion of his name from the voter list under the controversial ‘SIR’ (Special Intensive Revision). Despite his family members being listed, the resident’s name was kept under adjudication and eventually removed, prompting him to demand answers from the BJP leader.

A visibly unsettled Dilip Ghosh quickly shifted the blame onto the ruling TMC. “The TMC-aligned BLOs (Booth Level Officers) have intentionally caused this mess by not submitting documents properly. I have advised the affected people to approach the tribunal or re-apply online,” Ghosh stated.

Continuing his streak of controversial remarks, Ghosh also took a dig at TMC MP and actress June Maliah. He remarked, “A glamorous MP was elected here who only shows up to perform street dances during nominations. You won’t see her in the muddy lanes of the wards because she’s afraid the sun will ruin her complexion.” While his comments drew laughter from a section of the crowd, they have ignited a fresh political storm, with many calling his statements regressive and derogatory.
