Save Time and Money! Check the Full Schedule of New MEMU Trains Starting This Week

In a major boost for daily commuters, Eastern Railway has announced the restoration of MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) train services in the Malda Division. After a long hiatus, these services are set to resume in phases starting April 10, ensuring a faster and more economical travel experience for office-goers, students, and local traders.

According to railway sources, six MEMU trains will be operational in the first phase covering several key routes. Starting April 10, Train No. 63406 will depart Sahibganj daily at 5:00 PM, reaching Rampurhat by 8:55 PM. Conversely, from April 11, Train No. 63405 will leave Rampurhat at 6:10 AM. Additionally, regular services will be restored on the Sahibganj-Jamalpur and Jamalpur-Kiul routes. The Sahibganj-Jamalpur MEMU will depart at 7:20 AM daily, while the Jamalpur-Kiul service will start its journey at 12:25 PM, providing vital connectivity for the region.

Manish Kumar Gupta, DRM of Malda Division, stated that the resumption of these trains would significantly improve inter-district connectivity and ease the daily commute for thousands. This move is expected to breathe new life into local trade and transport efficiency.
