Bloodshed at Cooch Behar Border! BSF Shoots Down Bangladeshi Intruder During Infiltration Bid

Fresh tensions have erupted along the Indo-Bangladesh border in North Bengal following the death of a Bangladeshi national in a BSF firing incident. The encounter took place in the early hours of Tuesday near the Satgram camp area in the Mathabhanga sector of Cooch Behar district. According to BSF sources, the action was taken in self-defense during a violent confrontation with a group of infiltrators.
The BSF spotted a group of 7-8 individuals attempting to breach the border fence under the cover of darkness. Despite multiple warnings to retreat, the group continued to advance, leading to a physical scuffle with the on-duty personnel. In the ensuing clash, the BSF opened fire, critically injuring one individual identified as Mohammad Ali Hossain (49), a resident of Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead. Following the incident, security has been tightened across the border, and a flag meeting between the BSF and BGB is expected to take place shortly to address the diplomatic fallout.
