“NATO is a Paper Tiger!” Trump Slams Allies for ‘Failing’ US During Iran Conflict

U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on NATO and key allies, including South Korea, Japan, and Australia, accusing them of failing to provide military support during the ongoing conflict with Iran. Speaking at a White House press briefing, Trump expressed deep disappointment, stating that their refusal to assist has left a lasting impact on his administration’s foreign policy.
“NATO is a paper tiger that Putin is not even afraid of,” Trump remarked, adding that his friction with the alliance intensified after they rejected his proposal to acquire Greenland. He bluntly stated, “We wanted Greenland, they wouldn’t give it to us, so I said—bye-bye.”
Regarding the Iran war, Trump claimed that despite his casual request for assistance, NATO members were adamant about not getting involved. However, he noted a sudden change in their stance now that the U.S. is nearing its strategic objectives. Trump also highlighted the vulnerability of 45,000 U.S. troops stationed in South Korea and 50,000 in Japan, blaming past administrations for Kim Jong Un’s nuclear capabilities while maintaining that his own relationship with the North Korean leader remains “very good.” As NATO Chief Mark Rutte prepares to visit Washington, Trump’s rhetoric signals a potential seismic shift in the future of the 77-year-old Atlantic alliance.
