In a major relief for gold buyers, prices of the yellow metal saw a significant dip this Tuesday. Across major metro cities, gold has become cheaper by several hundred rupees per 10 grams. In Kolkata, the price of 22-carat gold fell by ₹750, reaching ₹1,37,350 per 10 grams, while 24-carat gold is currently trading at ₹1,49,840, down by ₹820 from yesterday.

The trend was similar in other cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Chennai witnessed the steepest decline, with 22-carat gold dropping by ₹1,300 per 10 grams. This sudden slump is attributed to global market fluctuations, providing a perfect window for those planning jewelry purchases during the ongoing wedding season. Patna and Jaipur also recorded a notable downward trend in both 18K and 24K categories.
