Tragic End Abroad? Two Hawkers from Bengal Found Dead Near Myanmar Border
April 7, 2026

A pall of gloom has descended on Charka village in West Midnapore’s Keshpur after the tragic suspected deaths of two local hawkers, Arfik Khan and Jahangir Mirza. The duo had traveled to Silchar, Assam, in late February to sell mattresses. However, all contact was lost after March 17.
The situation took a grim turn when photos of their bodies surfaced on social media. Locals suspect that the two might have crossed into the Myanmar border area via Mizoram’s Champhai, where they were allegedly killed. While the families await official confirmation, District Police have initiated a probe into the matter to ascertain the facts behind this mysterious disappearance and death.
