In a major breakthrough ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Elections, the Cooch Behar Police seized a massive consignment of illegal arms and ammunition during a routine naka checking on Sunday. This follows the recent recovery of a huge sum of unaccounted cash from the same district, highlighting the heightened security risks during the poll season.

According to reports, two individuals have been detained in connection with the incident and are currently under interrogation. The seized weaponry and bullets have been handed over to the Cooch Behar Crime Branch for further investigation. With the election atmosphere heating up, the recovery of such a large stockpile suggests a potential plot to disrupt law and order.
