The recent unrest in Malda’s Kaliachak and Mothabari has triggered a massive political showdown, with two heavyweight NDA ministers from Bihar launching a scathing attack on West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

Union Minister and BJP MP Giriraj Singh alleged that the violence in Malda was not incidental but a result of a “planned conspiracy” and provocation by the Chief Minister herself. He accused the state government of failing to protect its citizens due to political motives.

Echoing similar sentiments, Chirag Paswan, chief of RLJP (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister, attributed the violence to the state’s “appeasement politics.” Paswan stated that the administrative failure in Bengal has reached its peak, leading to such repeated instances of lawlessness. With national leaders stepping into the fray, the Malda violence has now become a major flashpoint between the NDA and the Trinamool Congress.
