$100 Million US F-35 Fighter Jet Shot Down? Iran Claims Second Massive Kill Amid Conflict!

Tensions in the Middle East have reached a boiling point as Iran claims to have successfully destroyed a US F-35 Lightning II fighter jet. According to state media IRIB, the Islamic Republic’s air defense systems targeted a squadron aircraft from the UK’s RAF Lakenheath. Iranian military officials stated that the jet exploded over central Iran, adding that the pilot is likely deceased. This marks the second such claim by Tehran since the conflict intensified on February 28.
This development follows a previous incident on March 19, where the IRGC claimed to have severely damaged another F-35, forcing it into an emergency landing. While the US Central Command rejected the March 19 claim of a “kill,” confirming that the pilot was stable and the aircraft landed safely, Iran remains firm on its success. The F-35, a cornerstone of US air power costing over $100 million per unit, is a key asset in the ongoing regional skirmishes. As Washington and Tehran trade conflicting reports, the risk of a full-scale escalation continues to loom large.
