Mamata Fires Salvos in Sagardighi! CM Slams EC & BJP Over Official Shuffles and Voter List Rows

The battle for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections has intensified as TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee hit the campaign trail in Murshidabad and Malda today. Speaking at a massive rally in Sagardighi’s Dumur Pahar, the Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission and the BJP. She questioned the timing of official transfers and raised concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, calling it a “deliberate attempt to weaken the democratic process at Delhi’s behest.”
Supporting TMC candidate Bayron Biswas, Mamata urged voters to resist any efforts to manipulate the electoral process. Following her Sagardighi speech, the Chief Minister is scheduled to address rallies in Suti and Baishnabnagar (Malda). Simultaneously, TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee is spearheading separate outreach programs across the state. Having stayed in Berhampore on Wednesday night, Mamata began her day early with a clear focus on the minority-heavy belts of Murshidabad. As the voting dates approach, her aggressive stance against administrative reshuffles signals a high-voltage confrontation between the state and the central authorities.
