Political tensions reached a boiling point in Tarakeswar as a campaign rally by BJP candidate Santu Pan turned into a violent face-off. The area transformed into a battlefield when supporters of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP clashed, shouting counter-slogans of ‘Joy Bangla’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

Santu Pan has leveled serious allegations against TMC workers, claiming he was subjected to filthy verbal abuse and explicit death threats during his outreach program. “They are trying to stop us with fear and violence,” the BJP candidate stated. Meanwhile, the local TMC leadership has dismissed these claims as baseless political stunts. A video capturing the chaotic scenes, showing supporters from both sides in a heated scuffle, has surfaced online. As the election fever rises, this incident has intensified the political rivalry in the region, leaving the local administration on high alert.
