“Mamata Gives, Modi Takes Away!” Abhishek Banerjee Blasts Centre’s Economic Policies in Bengal

Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Central Government, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of undoing the welfare work done by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. According to Abhishek, while the Bengal government puts money into people’s pockets, the Centre extracts it through rising prices and taxes.

Addressing a massive rally, Abhishek highlighted the contrast between state-run schemes like ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ and the rising costs of essential commodities. “Mamata Banerjee provides financial security to every household, but PM Modi takes it all back by hiking LPG, petrol, and medicine prices. It’s a systematic robbery of the common man’s savings,” he remarked.

He further alleged that the Centre is intentionally withholding Bengal’s legitimate dues to cripple the state’s development. By framing the narrative as “The Provider vs. The Extractor,” Abhishek is clearly aiming to consolidate the party’s core support base among the rural and middle-class population. This high-voltage rhetoric signals a fierce electoral battle ahead, with the TMC focusing heavily on the theme of economic injustice by the Central government.
