Temple Visit Turns Golden; Supermarket Staff Wins ₹10 Crore Kerala Summer Bumper Prize

A regular day turned extraordinary for N.V. Padmanabhan, a 51-year-old supermarket employee from Malappuram, Kerala, as he won the grand first prize of ₹10 crore in the Kerala State Lottery’s ‘Summer Bumper’ draw. The news has brought immense joy to his family in Neduva since Tuesday morning.
Padmanabhan, who has worked at a supermarket in Kozhichena for eight years, purchased the lucky ticket (SB 517026) in Palakkad on March 26 while returning from a temple visit in Coimbatore. He mentioned that he is not a regular lottery buyer but decided to purchase the ticket specifically because it was a ‘Bumper’ draw.
Living with his wife Smitha and two children, Padmanabhan views this win as a life-altering event. He has already submitted the winning ticket to the branch manager of the State Bank of India in Parappanangadi. Interestingly, the second prize of ₹1 crore was also sold from the Palakkad district, making it a lucky hub for this season’s draw.
