“Mamata is Pushing Bengal Towards Violent Polls,” Alleges BJP’s Samik Bhattacharya in a Blistering Attack

Ahead of the high-stakes 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections, the war of words between the BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has taken a sharp and aggressive turn. Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of deliberately steering the upcoming elections into an atmosphere of conflict and fear. Speaking at a press conference, Bhattacharya alleged that the Chief Minister’s recent remarks are “provocative” and intended to intimidate BJP workers across the state.
“The Chief Minister is aware that the political tide is turning against her. To counter this, she is using inflammatory language to incite her party cadres,” Bhattacharya claimed. He further added that the TMC is attempting to destroy the democratic fabric of the state by creating a “fear psychosis” among common voters and opposition supporters alike. According to the BJP, this is a calculated move to prevent a fair and peaceful polling process in 2026.
The BJP leader also hinted that the party would soon approach the Election Commission of India with specific instances of alleged intimidation. On the other hand, the TMC leadership has dismissed these allegations as “baseless and desperate,” stating that the BJP is making up excuses for its lack of grassroots support. However, with Bhattacharya’s explosive claims, the political temperature in West Bengal has reached a boiling point, signaling a volatile road ahead to the 2026 polls.
