Rahul Banerjee’s Death; Accident or Murder? Cine Workers Demand Blacklisting of Production House

Two days after the tragic death of Tollywood actor Rahul Banerjee, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has raised serious allegations of negligence, calling the incident a “murder.” Rahul lost his life while shooting a dance sequence in knee-deep water for the serial ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega,’ where he allegedly fell into an underwater trench. While his co-star Shweta Mishra was rescued, Rahul couldn’t be saved.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), AICWA demanded that the production house and the concerned channel be immediately blacklisted for failing to provide basic safety measures on set. The association has also demanded ₹1 crore in compensation for the actor’s family. They have appealed to the Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Odisha to launch a thorough investigation and file murder charges against the responsible parties, alleging that safety was compromised just to save money. Meanwhile, producer Leena Gangopadhyay has refrained from commenting, stating that since she wasn’t present at the spot, she would wait for the police investigation and footage analysis to conclude. The industry remains in shock over the security lapses on shooting floors.
