Suvendu Files Nomination from Nandigram! Predicts Decisive Victory with 177+ Seats for BJP

The battle for Bengal has officially escalated as Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari filed his nomination papers for the Nandigram assembly constituency on Monday. Accompanied by a sea of supporters and heavyweights like Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Dilip Ghosh, Suvendu submitted his documents at the Haldia SDO office. Before the formal process, he offered prayers at the Reapara Shiva Temple, seeking divine blessings for the “second battle of Nandigram.”
The Bold 177-Seat Prediction: Following the nomination, Suvendu made a staggering claim that has sent ripples through political circles. “In 2021, we rose from 3 to 77. This time, we will reach the magic figure and beyond. I predict that the BJP will win at least 177 seats in the 294-member assembly,” he asserted. Adhikari attributed this confidence to the removal of nearly 79 lakh “fake voters” from the electoral rolls, which he believes were the primary strength of the ruling Trinamool Congress.
A High-Profile Contest: Adhikari, who famously defeated CM Mamata Banerjee in 2021, is contesting from both Nandigram and Bhabanipur this time. During his speech, he reiterated his commitment to ousting the TMC government, citing issues of corruption, infiltration, and the safety of women. “The people of Bengal want freedom from fear, and BJP is the only alternative,” he added.
Union Leadership’s Backing: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan echoed Suvendu’s sentiments, stating that the “Vijay Sankalp” (Victory Pledge) rally in Nandigram is a clear indication of the changing political tide in West Bengal. While the TMC has dismissed Suvendu’s seat-count prediction as “daydreaming,” the ground-level excitement in Purba Medinipur suggests a very close and high-stakes contest.
