Ahead of the Assembly elections, a viral video of TMC candidate and State Minister Bratya Basu has sparked a political storm in Dum Dum. In the video, Basu is seen reprimanding party workers for internal infighting. “The workers here are scattered and disconnected. The party has turned into multiple factions. I will not tolerate groupism in my election,” he stated firmly.

Basu went a step further, warning workers that he would analyze the results of every single booth after the elections and send a detailed report to party supremo Mamata Banerjee. He indicated that this report would influence the selection of candidates for the 2027 municipal elections. Experts believe this move is aimed at curbing internal friction and ensuring maximum effort from the grassroots level before the crucial polls.
