Battle for Bengal Reaches the Skies! TMC Takes the Lead in Political Kite War

As the election fever grips West Bengal, the political battlefield has shifted from the streets to the skies. In a unique display of campaigning, political parties are now using kites to reach out to the masses. The blue horizon of Bengal is currently dotted with kites featuring the logos of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), BJP, and CPIM, sparking a literal “Sky-War” ahead of the polls.

According to market surveys and local vendors, the demand for political kites has hit an all-time high. Interestingly, the ruling Trinamool Congress has emerged as the clear winner in this kite competition, securing the number one spot in terms of sales. The ‘Ghas-Phool’ (Grass-Flower) symbol is currently dominating the skyline. In a surprising turn of events, the CPIM has secured the second position, with their signature ‘Sickle and Hammer’ kites finding many takers among the youth and traditional supporters. The BJP, despite its massive ground presence, currently stands at third place in this kite-selling frenzy.

Wholesale dealers in markets like Shobhabazar and various suburban hubs are working overtime to meet the skyrocketing demand. Artisans are struggling to manufacture enough units as supporters from all parties are buying kites in bulk for rallies and rooftop celebrations. “We have never seen such a craze before. It’s not just about flying kites; it’s about showing political dominance in the sky,” says a veteran kite maker. While the actual electoral outcome remains to be seen, the symbolic battle in the air suggests a vibrant and competitive atmosphere in the poll-bound state.
