This move is expected to benefit lakhs of state employees and pensioners who have been advocating for their dues for a considerable period.

According to sources within the Finance Department, the necessary administrative clearances have been fast-tracked to ensure that the funds reach the beneficiaries’ bank accounts without further delay. Treasuries across the state have been placed on high alert to process the bills immediately. This sudden acceleration in clearing the dues is being viewed by political analysts as a strategic move ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections, aimed at pacifying a significant voter bloc of government workers.

While the exact percentage of the arrears to be cleared is yet to be fully specified for all tiers, the instruction to finish the process by March 31 leaves no room for ambiguity.
