The ‘Spica Cast’ Challenge On the advice of specialist doctors, Lara had to undergo a rigorous treatment involving a ‘Spica Cast’—a heavy medical plaster designed to stabilize the hip joints. For nearly two and a half months, the infant was restricted in this cast. Varun described the experience as deeply traumatizing, especially the moment when Lara was administered anesthesia to put the cast on and woke up in that restricted state. “It was the most challenging phase of our lives,” the actor confessed.

Road to Recovery Fortunately, after the grueling 10-week period, the cast has been removed. Varun updated his fans that Lara is now responding well to the treatment and is on the path to a full recovery. While the scare was immense for the family, the actor’s transparency about the condition has raised awareness about Hip Dysplasia among new parents.
