Akshay Kumar, Bollywood’s ultimate ‘Khiladi’, once faced a real-life death trap while filming the movie ‘Blue’ in 2009. Shooting 150 feet deep in the ocean without an oxygen cylinder, Akshay accidentally smashed his head against a rusted iron beam of a sunken ship. As his head began to bleed profusely, the scent of blood attracted nearly 45 sharks to the spot.

The actor recalls being circled by the predators, with a few even charging directly at him. In a situation where panic would mean instant death, Akshay displayed nerves of steel. He held his breath and moved slowly towards the surface, knowing that splashing would only provoke the sharks further. While the film didn’t create ripples at the box office, it gave Akshay a second lease on life that he will never forget.
