Firebrand BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of neglecting the genuine development of the Muslim community in West Bengal. Speaking at a political rally, Ghosh claimed that despite being a loyal support base for the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the minority community has seen no real socio-economic upliftment under the current regime.

“Mamata Banerjee has treated Muslims as mere pawns in her vote-bank politics,” Ghosh stated. He further advised the community to introspect on their political choices, saying, “It is time for the Muslim brothers and sisters to think about their future. You have supported one party for years, but what have you gained in terms of education or jobs? The TMC has kept you marginalized while pretending to be your savior.”

The comments have triggered a sharp reaction from the TMC leadership, who labeled Ghosh’s remarks as a desperate attempt to polarize the electorate before the polls. The ruling party highlighted various schemes like scholarships and infrastructure projects specifically aimed at minority welfare as proof of their commitment.
