Humayun Kabir Blows the ‘Whistle’ for 2026! New Alliance with Owaisi Set to Shake Bengal Politics!

The political landscape of West Bengal is bracing for a seismic shift as the 2026 Assembly Elections approach. Humayun Kabir, the former TMC strongman and leader of the ‘Aam Janata Unnayan Party’ (AJUP), has officially unveiled ‘Whistle’ as his party’s electoral symbol. In a move that has sent ripples through the ruling camp, Kabir has formally allied with Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM to challenge the existing power dynamics in the state.
During a joint press conference in Kolkata, Asaduddin Owaisi addressed Humayun Kabir as his “elder brother,” emphasizing that this coalition is dedicated to giving a voice to the marginalized and minority communities of Bengal. Kabir announced that AJUP intends to contest 182 seats, including high-stakes constituencies like Bhawanipore and Nandigram. AIMIM is expected to field candidates in at least 8 key constituencies.
While political pundits suggest that this alliance could fracture the TMC’s dedicated minority vote bank, critics have labeled the move as a tactic that might indirectly benefit the BJP. However, Kabir remained defiant, accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of exploiting minorities and failing to protect their interests. As the battle lines are drawn, the “Whistle” symbol aims to sound an alarm across the state, signaling a fierce multi-cornered contest in 2026.
