: Ahead of the high-voltage Assembly elections, West Bengal BJP State President Samik Bhattacharya has launched a direct attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress. Speaking to the media on Monday, Samik stated, “The people of West Bengal have already made up their minds. The 2026 election will be the ‘Bisarjan’ (immersion) of the Trinamool Congress.”

Bhattacharya alleged that the widespread corruption and the “anti-people” policies of the Mamata Banerjee-led government have fueled massive public resentment. He noted that from the Sandeshkhali unrest to the recruitment scams, voters are eager to pull down the TMC regime. “The TMC knows they have lost their ground, which is why they are creating drama over the voter lists,” he added. The TMC has dismissed his claims, calling them “delusional,” but Samik’s confident rhetoric indicates a fierce battle as Bengal heads to the polls in April.
