‘No Rest, Hit the Tea Stalls!’ Abhishek Banerjee’s High-Voltage Command Shakes TMC’s Bhawanipur Wing

With the Assembly elections on the horizon, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has sounded the war cry from its stronghold, Bhawanipur. Abhishek Banerjee, the party’s All India General Secretary, has laid down a rigorous roadmap, setting a massive target of a 60,000+ vote lead. Addressing a crucial worker’s meet, he directed that in each of the 231 booths, workers must secure at least five additional votes compared to the previous election.

In a stern warning against complacency, Banerjee told councillors and booth presidents to stop working from home. “Don’t just sit in your offices; go to the local markets and tea stalls. Engage with the people,” he commanded. He has institutionalized a ‘Daily Report Card’ system to monitor the ground-level progress. The instruction is clear: a single visit to a voter isn’t enough; workers must knock on every door at least thrice.

The primary campaign weapon will be the ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ scheme. Workers have been tasked with highlighting that no BJP-ruled state offers such financial security to women. Bhawanipur is often called ‘Mini India’ due to its diverse linguistic demographic, and the TMC leadership believes BJP is attempting to polarize non-Bengali voters through religion. To counter this, Abhishek urged workers to fortify the grassroots before Mamata Banerjee kicks off her statewide campaign from North Bengal next week. By mandating intensive public outreach and strict accountability, TMC is leaving no stone unturned to maintain its political hegemony in this high-profile constituency.
