New Applications for Yuvasree Scheme? Big Update for Unemployed Youth in West Bengal

The Yuvasree scheme (often called Yuvasathi) by the West Bengal government remains a crucial support system for the state’s unemployed youth. Under this scheme, registered job seekers receive a monthly stipend of ₹1,500. With rumors of fresh batches being selected, thousands are looking to apply.

Can you apply right now? The registration on the official Employment Bank portal is open throughout the year. However, being registered on the portal is just the first step. The government periodically releases a ‘Waiting List’ (Annexure-I). Only those whose names appear in this list can apply for the actual monthly allowance. Currently, new applicants can register themselves to secure a spot in the upcoming lists.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • Minimum educational qualification is Class 8 pass.
  • Age should be between 18 and 45 years.
  • Only one member of a family can avail of this benefit.
  • To apply, visit employmentbankwestbengal.gov.in, register as a ‘New Job Seeker,’ and visit your local Employment Exchange within 60 days for document verification.
