Want to Opt-Out of Lakshmir Bhandar? Here is the Step-by-Step Guide to Remove Your Name from the Portal

The West Bengal government’s flagship project, ‘Lakshmir Bhandar,’ has reached millions of households. However, there are instances where beneficiaries might want to stop receiving the financial aid, either due to improved financial status or personal choice. For those wondering how to withdraw their names from the scheme, the government has provided a clear administrative channel.
To de-register from the scheme, the beneficiary must submit a written application to the local Block Development Officer (BDO) or the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO). In urban areas, the application should be submitted to the Municipality or Municipal Corporation office. The letter must clearly state the applicant’s name, Lakshmir Bhandar Application ID, Aadhaar number, and linked bank account details, along with a declaration that she no longer wishes to avail of the monthly benefit.
Alternatively, citizens can visit the ongoing ‘Duare Sarkar’ (Government at your Doorstep) camps to file their request for name removal. Once the application is verified and processed by the concerned authorities on the social security portal, the monthly credit will be permanently stopped. This provision is particularly helpful for those who wish to redirect resources to more marginalized individuals or who have recently secured a government job or pension. The administration has encouraged transparency and voluntary withdrawal for those who feel they no longer require the state’s financial support.
