KD: The Devil Lands in Holy Soup! Aligarh Mufti Slams Sanjay Dutt Starrer Song as Vulgar

The controversy surrounding a track from the Kannada flick ‘KD: The Devil’ has reached an intense peak. After facing a government ban, the song has now come under the radar of religious authorities. Eminent cleric Mufti Maulana Ibrahim Hussain from Aligarh has issued a stern statement, labeling the visuals in the song as ‘Haram’ and ‘Gunah-e-Kabira’ (a major sin).
Released on March 14, 2026, the song features Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt in a 70s retro dance bar setting. While it was supposed to be Nora’s grand debut in Kannada cinema, it quickly turned into a PR nightmare due to its suggestive lyrics and bold choreography. The central government has already prohibited the song following massive public backlash regarding its “indecent” content.
Mufti Ibrahim Hussain, in an interview with India Today, expressed grave concern over the moral decay of the youth caused by such “obscene” displays. He emphasized that promoting vulgarity in the name of entertainment violates sacred religious tenets. With the movie slated for an April 30 release, the makers find themselves cornered between legal censorship and religious fatwas. Industry experts are now questioning whether the film can survive the box office without this heavily promoted but now-banned musical number.
