Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a blistering attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) following the sudden removal of the state’s Chief Secretary and the Kolkata Police Commissioner. Terming the move as an “anti-Bengali mindset,” she alleged that the ECI is functioning as per the instructions of the BJP.

“They are handpicking officers who will serve the BJP’s interests. This is a direct insult to the people of Bengal,” Mamata stated during a rally. Invoking the phrase ‘Vinash Kale Viprit Buddhi’ (When destruction nears, wisdom fails), she warned that replacing administrative heads would not sway the voters. She claimed that the central government is trying to weaken the state’s administration just before the polls to gain an unfair advantage.
