“We Will Make a Comeback!” Mamata’s Thundering Challenge from College Square Rally
Immediately after the announcement of the poll schedule, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to the streets of Kolkata today, signaling an aggressive start to her election campaign. Leading a massive rally from College Square to Dorina Crossing, the TMC supremo declared with unwavering confidence, “Today’s turnout proves that our comeback in 2026 is certain. No amount of conspiracy can stop the people of Bengal.”
The primary focus of the march was the skyrocketing prices and reported shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Mamata slammed the Centre for what she called “financial terrorism” against the common man and described the pre-poll price cuts as a “political lollipop.” She also lashed out at the Election Commission of India for the sudden removal of top state bureaucrats, calling it an “anti-Bengali” move. “They might change the officers, but they cannot change the mandate of the people,” she asserted.
Accompanied by TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the Chief Minister’s rally effectively brought the heart of Kolkata to a standstill. Political experts believe that by framing the 2026 battle as a fight for “Bengal’s Dignity,” Mamata is successfully consolidating her core voter base. With the “Comeback” slogan echoing from Dorina Crossing, the Trinamool Congress has clearly positioned itself as the dominant force ready to tackle the high-voltage political warfare ahead.
