“Sun Will Rise in the West if Mamata Loses!” Bratya Basu’s Brutal Warning to Suvendu Adhikari
The political temperature in West Bengal has reached a boiling point following a verbal spat between TMC heavyweight Bratya Basu and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. After Suvendu publicly vowed to defeat Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in her home turf of Bhawanipore, Bratya Basu hit back with a stinging analogy. He remarked, “If Mamata Banerjee loses in Bhawanipore, the sun will rise in the west,” implying that her defeat is a natural impossibility.
Bratya Basu’s comment has sparked a fresh row in Bengal’s political landscape. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) asserts that Bhawanipore is Mamata’s fortress, where she has a deep emotional connection with the voters. Basu suggested that Suvendu is daydreaming and should focus on reality rather than making sensational claims about a seat where the CM has historically dominated.
On the other hand, the BJP unit led by Suvendu Adhikari believes that their strategic outreach in Kolkata will yield results. Suvendu, who defeated Mamata in the high-stakes Nandigram battle in 2021, is confident that the same feat can be repeated in Bhawanipore. However, the TMC maintains that the Nandigram victory was a fluke caused by counting discrepancies and will not be replicated in the heart of Kolkata. As both parties gear up for future electoral battles, Bhawanipore remains the ultimate battlefield of pride and power.
