West Bengal Polls: Voting in 2 Phases on April 23 & 29; ‘End of TMC Story,’ says BJP
The Election Commission has officially announced the schedule for the West Bengal Assembly Elections across 294 constituencies. The polls will be conducted in two phases: April 23 (152 seats) and April 29 (142 seats). The final verdict will be out on May 4 during the counting of votes.
Reacting to the announcement, West Bengal BJP President Shamik Bhattacharya welcomed the EC’s decision and launched a scathing attack on the ruling party. “People are ready for the ‘Bisarjan’ (immersion) of the current government,” he stated, adding that “TMC’s story is over.”
Bhattacharya also accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of divisive politics, alleging that she has been inciting one community against another. With the dates finalized, the political atmosphere in the state has reached a fever pitch.
