Inclusive Growth: Bengal Sets Up New Boards for Munda, Kora, Dome, Kumbhakar, and Sadgop Communities
In a significant move toward inclusive development, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the formation of five new ‘Cultural and Development Boards’ for various marginalized communities in West Bengal. The boards will specifically cater to the Munda (ST), Kora (ST), Dome (SC), Kumbhakar (OBC), and Sadgop (OBC) communities.
The Chief Minister shared the update on social media platform ‘X,’ highlighting that these boards aim to preserve the unique languages and rich traditions of these communities while ensuring better access to education, healthcare, and employment. The boards will also work toward securing their traditional rights and fostering socio-economic progress.
Recalling that the government has been setting up similar boards since 2013, CM Banerjee reaffirmed her commitment to the principle of ‘Ma-Mati-Manush,’ stating that no community should be left behind in the journey of development. Her ultimate goal remains to bring smiles to the faces of every citizen through sustained and inclusive support.
