Dev’s Request Granted; Over 7,000 Film Industry Technicians to Get Health Insurance Coverage

In a landmark decision for the Bengali film industry, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has brought over 7,000 hardworking technicians under the purview of the state’s flagship ‘Swasthya Sathi’ health insurance scheme. This significant welfare move comes following a heartfelt request from actor and Member of Parliament, Dev.

The Power of Advocacy: Recognizing the vital contributions of the industry’s backbone—its technicians—Dev wrote to the Chief Minister, urging her to extend the benefits of the health scheme to them. Mamata Banerjee responded positively, approving the request to ensure these workers have access to affordable healthcare. Expressing his gratitude, Dev took to social media, stating, “I am grateful to Hon’ble CM Mamata Banerjee for accepting my request for the welfare of over 7,000 industrious technicians of the Bengali film industry.”

Registration Details: To facilitate the enrollment, a special registration camp will be organized on March 17 at the Technician’s Studio. Dev has personally urged all technicians to attend the camp and complete their registration to avail themselves of the scheme’s benefits.

This initiative is being hailed as a major victory for the behind-the-scenes heroes of Tollywood, providing them with essential financial protection for medical emergencies. The move reflects a strengthened commitment to the well-being of the entire film fraternity in Bengal.
