Big Relief for Central Employees; DA Hike to 60% Likely Soon!

There is significant positive news on the horizon for central government employees and pensioners. Based on the analysis of recent inflation data and the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW), experts anticipate that the central government will soon announce a Dearness Allowance (DA) hike.

Currently, the DA for central employees stands at 58%. According to new calculations, a hike of approximately 2% is expected, which would push the total DA to 60%. Recent data from the Ministry of Labour indicates that the CPI-IW index has risen to 148.6 points, serving as the primary metric for this adjustment. As per standard policy, the government revises DA twice a year—in January and July.

In the face of rising inflation, this increase will provide much-needed financial relief to employees and pensioners by boosting their monthly income. With many expecting an announcement ahead of the upcoming festive season, this move is set to bring a wave of optimism among millions of central government staff.
