Sudden Weather Shift in Bengal, Rain and Stormy Winds Predicted
The weather in West Bengal has taken a dramatic turn, with dark clouds looming over the state. According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, there is a strong possibility of light-to-moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms across both North and South Bengal over the next few days.
Kolkata witnessed a gloomy start today, with the Met office predicting scattered rainfall and issuing warnings for lightning. The city’s minimum temperature is 25.3°C, while the maximum is expected to hover around 30.8°C. Districts in South Bengal, including Howrah, Hooghly, and South 24 Parganas, are expected to see overcast skies with gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30-40 km/h.
In North Bengal, areas such as Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Malda, and the Dinajpur districts are also bracing for rain. Reports suggest there may even be light snowfall in the hilly regions of Sikkim. Residents are advised to stay cautious during thunderstorms and keep track of updated weather bulletins.
