IAF Wing Commander, involved in anti-Maoist operations, dies by suicide in Raipur

A tragic incident has come to light from Raipur, where a 39-year-old Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander, Vipul Yadav, was found dead at his residence on Wednesday morning. The officer was actively involved in anti-Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh.

According to police, the Wing Commander’s 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter were sleeping in another room at the time of the incident. His wife was in Delhi for professional work. The domestic help discovered the body and alerted others. No suicide note was recovered from the scene. A forensic team has inspected the premises, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

Additional Police Commissioner Ramakant Sahu stated that preliminary investigations point towards domestic discord as the primary reason for the extreme step. It is believed that the couple frequently had disputes. Originally from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Wing Commander Yadav’s wife, a former IAF employee, currently works at an IT firm in Bengaluru. The police have seized the officer’s mobile phone and are interrogating family members to ascertain the exact circumstances behind the death.
