War Hits Temple Kitchens! LPG Crisis Forces Tamluk’s Bargabhima Temple to Halt Prasad Distribution

The intensifying conflict in West Asia involving Iran, Israel, and the US has triggered a severe energy crisis in India, reaching the kitchens of the historic Bargabhima Temple in Tamluk. One of the 51 Shaktipeeths, the temple is facing an acute shortage of commercial LPG cylinders. Consequently, the temple authorities have announced that the distribution of ‘Bhog’ (consecrated food) to general devotees will be suspended indefinitely starting March 21, 2026.

Reason for Suspension: The temple management stated that due to the nationwide disruption in LPG supplies, they are unable to procure enough cylinders to sustain the large-scale cooking required daily. Those who had pre-booked the ‘Bhog’ are being contacted and informed about the cancellation. The authorities clarified that services would only resume once the fuel supply stabilizes. This decision has caused widespread concern among pilgrims who travel long distances to seek the goddess’s blessings and partake in the sacred meal.
