Pashupatinath to Baidyanath Dham! 250 KM High-Speed Corridor to Boost Connectivity in Bihar

In a major boost to religious tourism and cross-border connectivity, Bihar’s Road Construction Minister, Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, announced the development of the ‘Pashupatinath-Baidyanath Dham High-Speed Corridor.’ This 250-kilometer Greenfield Expressway will create a direct high-speed link between the Pashupatinath temple in Nepal and Baidyanath Dham in Jharkhand, passing through several key districts of Bihar.

The Strategic Route: Starting from Kathmandu, the expressway will enter India via Bhimnagar and Birpur in Bihar’s Supaul district. It will then traverse through Madhepura, Saharsa, Khagaria, Munger, and Banka before reaching its destination in Deoghar, Jharkhand. This corridor is designed to provide a seamless travel experience for pilgrims and travelers alike.

Economic and Regional Impact: Beyond spiritual significance, the project aims to stimulate economic growth across Eastern India. The corridor will integrate with major routes like the Raxaul-Haldia and Darbhanga-Amas expressways, strengthening the regional logistics network. Additionally, as part of the Indo-Nepal Border Road Project, 554 kilometers of roads are being constructed across seven border districts of Bihar, significantly enhancing security and trade between the two nations.
