Direct Cash Transfer of ₹1200 Monthly! Rajasthan Budget 2026 Brings Major Relief for These Families

In a significant move towards social welfare and transparency, the Rajasthan government has announced a series of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes in its 2026-27 budget. Finance Minister Diya Kumari’s budget speech highlighted a shift from physical ration distribution to direct cash assistance, aiming to empower tribal families and the working class.
₹1200 Direct Credit Every Month: A major policy shift has been announced for the Sahariya and Kathodi tribal families. Replacing the old system of distributing ghee and oil, the government will now transfer ₹1,200 per month directly into the bank accounts of the female heads of approximately 38,000 tribal households. This move ensures that families have the flexibility to spend on their specific needs while eliminating middlemen.
Digital Empowerment & Youth Support: The budget introduces the “Shram Setu Mobile App,” a digital platform for workers to register and access welfare schemes from home. For students, the government has launched an e-voucher scheme worth ₹20,000 for high-achieving 10th and 12th graders to purchase laptops. Additionally, annual scholarships for daughters of martyred soldiers have been increased to ₹2,000. To boost the rural economy, ‘Minor Forest Processing Centers’ will be established in Banswara and Udaipur, focusing on local produce and job creation.
