“I Killed Him”: Daughter Slits Father’s Throat in Korba After Midnight Brawl Over Indecent Remarks

In a shocking incident reported from the Korba district of Chhattisgarh, a 27-year-old woman allegedly murdered her father by slitting his throat with a sickle. The incident took place in the early hours of February 10 in Ralia village under the Hardi Bazar police station limits. The accused, Geeta Keewat, reportedly confessed to her relatives immediately after the crime, stating calmly, “I have killed him.” The victim, identified as 55-year-old Ashok Kumar Keewat, was found lying in a pool of blood by his brother.
Investigations revealed a history of deep-seated familial discord. Ashok, an alcoholic, frequently doubted the character of his wife and three daughters, leading them to live separately for the last eight years. The family had returned to the village on February 9 to settle land compensation matters. Around 2:00 AM, a heated argument broke out between Geeta and Ashok. According to the police, Ashok used extremely derogatory and obscene language against Geeta, which triggered a violent outburst from her. In a fit of rage, she grabbed a sickle and attacked him.
Adding a modern twist to the tragedy, it was discovered that Geeta was an active social media user and YouTuber. A recent controversy involving a video with a young man had already caused friction within the family and had even reached the cyber cell. Police officials believe the cumulative psychological stress of years of abuse, combined with the immediate provocation on the night of the incident, led to the murder. Geeta is currently in police custody, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
